When I heard about this book, I knew I had to read it. To me, there is little that is more hilarious on a daily basis than raising children. When your 3 year old absolutely refuses to wear clothes and the UPS delivery guy knocks on the door… what’s funnier than that? So I got a copy of The Parent Trip (Subtitle: From high heels and parties to high chairs and potties) and I couldn’t put it down.
This book is all about Jenna McCarthy’s adventure in being pregnant and trying to raise a little girl. There were so many parts of the book that I could relate to. From finding out you’re having a girl (when your husband really wanted a boy) to those moments where you think “What was I thinking??” All of it hit home with me.
This book is also laugh out loud hilarious. It would make a great Christmas gift for a new mom or an expectant mom or just a friend who needs a really good laugh. The Parent Trip is packed full of experiences that any mom will nod their head in agreement as they remember similar experiences of their own. Jenna tells her story in a very straight forward way and has an amazing talent for putting the entire parent experience into words. I highly recommend this book for moms everywhere who need a nice belly laugh!
