How Do You Sleep? (Kids Book Review)

Recently, one of my blogging friends, Amy, asked for some help for a mom in her child’s school who was struggling. The woman is an author but the the family has falled on hard times. So Amy asked via a post if people would consider buying a book or two from the author.

The author’s name is L. Bonnett-Rampersaud and she has a couple of books out including How Do You Sleep? I checked out the book on Amazon (surprise, surprise) and thought it looked really cute, so I ordered it. It came a short week later and I pulled it out to read to the kids.

I have to tell you, my kids didn’t move from the time I opened the book until I closed it at the end of story time. And yes, that is extremely unusual. The artwork is so vivid and detailed that my kids were fascinated with each picture. They turned back through the book over and over again looking for all the animals in each page.

This book is excellent for toddlers and in my house, it sparked lots of conversation about where different people and animals sleep. It also encouraged my kids to make their own beds and create beds out of boxes and dish rags for their zoo of stuffed animals. This book would be an excellent Christmas gift for the little ones on your shopping list and it’s perfect for snuggly reading time right before bedtime.
