Breakfast Ideas for Students

Do you find yourself purchasing sugary cereals and other sugary breakfast treats for your children? Sure they are easy and fast but they are not healthy at all! Giving your children all those sugary sweet cereals and Pop Tarts or worse yet, driving through a donut place is like giving your child a cup of coffee each and every morning.

Although those breakfast alternatives may be quick and easy they are extremely unhealthy. The lack of nutritional value and the sugar levels contained within them will only give them a rush that will quickly wear off and make your little ones tired with no energy to function.

The best type of breakfast is one that will give the child the energy needed for their brains to function and absorb the materials being taught. That is why breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating properly will help them focus and will give them the appropriate type of energy not the ones found in sugary breakfast meals.

Some energy boosting breakfast ideas:

  • Eggs – they are a great source of protein. If you are running short on time in the mornings try making hard-boiled eggs the night before. Those are quick and easy and nutritious too.
  • Fruit smoothies – loaded with vitamins are a great source of energy for your little ones. Mix your child’s favorite fruit with yogurt add some cinnamon and vanilla blend together for a wonderful breakfast treat.
  • Carnation Instant Breakfast – an old time favorite that is still around. It is loaded with antioxidants, twice the protein of an egg and twice as much calcium as a small container of yogurt. It tastes like chocolate milk and loaded with vitamins.
  • Cold pizza – yes, you read it correctly, cold pizza. Who said you have to have eggs from breakfast? If your child is not a breakfast eater it is perfectly fine to offer pizza or perhaps chicken for breakfast. It contains the vitamins and proteins needed without the sugary toaster treats.

Most importantly be sure that your child has a good night’s rest and nutritious breakfast to start off their day. Stay away from the quick breakfast treats available and don’t cave in to your child’s plea for sugary treats. It will be best for them and will increase the energy needed to handle the stresses of school.

I’ve heard of the pizza for breakfast thing. My kids love to eat it for breakfast.
