The Special Bond

There’s just something about having a baby girl. I”m not exactly sure what it is, trust me I love my first born, a son, more than anything, but my daughter well she and I just have something special. Sure, she’s only 15 months old now, but already I know our relationship will be an important one in both of our lives. At least that is what I hope for, since I have that special relationship with my mom, and my mom has it with hers, and her mom had it with hers. It’s a generational thing that I hope will continue down the line.

Mom / Daughter RelationshipI can only imagine the memories we will share throughout the years. Right now, she merely loves to sit with me in the recliner right beside me as she drinks her morning sippy cup of milk, or cuddling in bed. Later, I”m sure it’ll be sitting with me as I put on my makeup, wanting some of her own as I used to with my mom, or sharing ice cream after a first date that ended less perfect than expected. Late night chats about her first love, wiping of tears when he breaks her heart, even proud moments like when she aces her history test or walks the aisle to accept Jesus as her Savior. All these things I look forward to, with anticipation.

What about you, do you have a relationship with your daughter that pulls at your heartstrings? Is this something you experienced as a child or something you are being sure to create for your daughter because it was something you lacked???

Having a daughter! I never did I had two boys. But I reflex on this as my mom had three daughers and I was one of them. She was my best freind,We did things together. For me as I can remember it all started when I was in jr high I was in Girl Scouts and my mom helped out in scouting, then on to high school she attended some of my high school events. we always went shopping together for clothes so she could help me pick out my outfits I liked her opinion. When I married our family always went from LI,NY up to Westchester County, NY for a visit with my mom. dad traveled he was the AYH Executive Director, but some weekends he was home. She planned my wedding. thanks goodness for Moms
