Have You Ever Won a Blog Contest?

Winning is everything right?  Have you ever won a contest or even a sweepstakes? I have and I have some tips on winning a blog contest!  First of all let me tell you a little about me.  I have been entering and winning contests, sweepstakes and giveaways for five years.  I have not entered consistently over all those years which means I haven’t won consistently either, but I have been winning.

Blogging is a big part of my life

Now that blogging takes a central role in my life,  the natural thing for me, a sweepstakes fanatic, to do is enter blog contests.  To be honest, blog contests are not my favorite thing to enter.  The reason why is because they take a heckuva long time to enter.  I have to take the time to think about a comment I want to leave.  With other sweepstakes all I have to do is use Roboform (form filling software), I push one button and then enter and I am in.  Blog contests slow me down!

Benefits of  entering a blogging contest

Even though a blogging contest is a speedbump in my entering giveaways online, I still enter them.  A blogging contest has great odds for winning.  The reasons why are less people enter, bonus entries, short entry period and sometimes more than one prize. Let’s go over each one of these in more detail!

Better Odds

When you find a giveaway that has fewer people entering, enter as many times as rules will allow!  You will have such high odds at winning with this contest.  If there are multiple ways to enter and the prize is really something you are wanting to win than make the effort to enter with bonus entries!  The odds will be even greater.  The odds continue to increase in your favor if the entry period is a month or less.  I have found contests that were open for only two, three and four days!  These are the best.  I get really excited when I find a contest like this. With such a short entry period, it doesn’t give people a lot of time to find the contest.  Now if you have under 500 people entering (most blog contests will) and there are multiple prizes being given well…let’s just say enter, enter and enter some more!

I won a blog contest this week

The contest I won was only open for a few days, offered five prizes, only one person had entered so far when I found it (yes I said one) and I could enter multiple times!  On top of that I needed the prize for my business.  I was so excited.  I entered as many times as I was allowed and guess what?!  I won!!  Now I have won many things in the past, including an African safari trip, but I was so excited because I knew I would win and I did.

Believe you will win

This is the next thing to do if you want to win blog contests!  Believe you will win.  A few years ago the movie “The Secret” came out.  It was a big hit.  It is a favorite in our house.  The secret is the law of attraction!  If you believe something will happen, it will happen!  This is so important in winning giveaways.  If you believe you are lucky, things tend to go your way.  Now if I can use this to benefit me in entering a blog contest, I know I can win bigger and better things.  Believe that you will win and watch what happens!

So now you know some of my secrets.  The last thing is to just enter!  You would be surprised how many people miss this step.  You can believe in yourself all you want but if you don’t do it then how will you ever win.  Go on the hunt for a contest that has great odds, enter and just wait for the win!
