New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are just a few days away. Ham Biscuits and Sweet & Spicy Jalapeno Poppers are both tasty additions to your holiday celebration. Ham biscuits are a staple of Southern celebrations. Traditionally, biscuits are cut in half and layered with flavorful country ham. These days, some cooks have adopted an easy shortcut: adding chopped ham (and cheese, if you please) right to the soft biscuit dough, then simply dropping the dough onto a baking {Read More}

My nest is empty now… has been for a long time. But, I have two wonderful grandchildren who keep me hoppin’! Although, when you get to know me better, you’ll see that I do a fair bit of hoppin’ on my own.
How many Moms actually go ‘out’ to celebrate New Year’s Eve? I venture to guess not too many. The whole idea of getting a baby-sitter, driving somewhere fancy, spending money on an overpriced meal, staying out late, and driving back home during the wee-hours on roads that are shared by people who have over-celebrated does not appeal to me at all. What does appeal to me is spending time ringing in the New Year with the people I love most. {Read More}
