Enjoy the Asian flavors of this low-calorie low-fat main dish. My family prefers white rice with sweet and sour pork. You could substitute brown rice; however, brown rice takes longer to cook than instant white rice, usually 30 to 40 minutes. Check your package for cooking directions.

1-1/2 lb. boneless pork loin, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon oil
1 onion, chopped
3/4 cup Watkins Original Barbecue Sauce
1 cup chicken broth made with 1 cup boiling water and 1 1/2 teaspoons Watkins Chicken Soup Base
1 can (8 oz.) pineapple chunks in juice, drained
1 green bell pepper, cut into bite size pieces (or part green bell pepper and part red bell pepper)
2 cups instant white rice, uncooked
Brown meat in oil in medium hot skillet. Sprinkle with a little salt and pepper. I used Watkins Garlic Salt. Place meat in slow cooker; top with onions.
Add barbecue sauce and broth; cover with lid. Cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours (or on HIGH 4 hours).
Stir in remaining ingredients except for rice. Cook, covered, on LOW 30 minutes.
Cook rice according to instructions on box. Serve sweet and sour pork over rice. Serves 6.
No Preheating Required
A slow cooker should never be preheated. Simply put the stoneware container in the slow cooker base, cover and set the temperature.
Slow Cooker Care
Do not add cold water to slow cooker immediately after use, as this could cause it to crack. Either add warm soapy water or let the slow cooker reach room temperature before cleaning.
